Black Creeper - Kiri Val

Black Creeper is a species of  flowering plant in the Apocynaceae family known by several common names, including Shyamlata, Black Sariva and Milk Vine. It is native plant to Sri Lanka. The plant is a climbing vine, grows on the ground or on a another tree or bush found in all parts of Sri Lanka mostly in Wet zone. Plant consider as a invasive weed that commonly found on fences back yards or anywhere direct to the sunlight or shady places. The vine called in Sinhalese as "Kiri Val" meaning of Milk vine because the all part of the vine produces a milk sap. It is important medicinal plant in Ayurveda for orthopedic treatments.
