Ageratum houstonianum is a small herbaceous plant in Asteraceae family, known by several common names including Blue Mink Blue Weed, Blue Billy Goat Weed and Floss Flower. It is native to American continental and naturalized in some countries in Asia. Also found as a weed in hill country areas in Sri Lanka and sometime called "Hulantala" in Sinhalese but it is misapplied. The plant is toxin and have important medicinal properties but not use in Sri Lanka. It may cultivate as a ornamental in some countries. Species in genus Ageratum are fast pervasive and also Ageratum houstonianum plant becoming invasive like Ageratum conyzoides.
