Salwa-Shorea Tree - Sal Gasa

Cannon Ball Tree or Sal Tree in Sinhalese is a large deciduous tree grow up to about 50 meters in height and about 2 or 3 meters in girth. Flowers are yellow to red or orange and dense bloom widely in April to June and fruits is large rounded shape grow up to 30 cm in diameter. It is native plant to America, India, Nepal, and Bangladesh. The bark of the Sal tree used in Ayurveda but not widely used in Sri Lanka.
