White Ginger or Parasathu Mal is a perennial plant native to Sri Lanka and India. Now, Naturalized African countries and South America. It is belong to the ginger family and grow as a ornamental plant.The Plant commonly found in home gardens and rarely found as a weed near water sources such as along water streams, rivers, and paddy fields. The White Ginger plant blooms white flowers that similar to Butterfly so got name "Butterfly flowers". When the blooming, White Ginger flowers start bloom at the evening and emit sweet fragrance to surrounding area like Kadupul Flowers.
