Horsfieldia Plant - Ruk Mala Boda

Horsfieldia or Malaboda tree is a flowering plant endemic to Sri Lanka that member of the Myristicaceae family. Fast growing tree grow up about 10 20 meters height and commonly found in wet zone in Sri Lanka along border of  paddy fields, margin of water streams and rivers etc. Sometime may be invasive. Plant dense blooms yellow flower clusters that has been used for offering in religious worship. Also it is a herb of Ayurveda and can be grow as a Ornamental plant.
