Derris Scandens or Kala Val is a woody vine native plant to Sri Lanka growing throughout dry zone in Sri Lanka as a weed. It can be found road side ways scrub jungle or in wild. It is a poisoned plant and has fish anesthetic properties that crushed bark of vines are popular in traditional fish farming uses. Also use in Ayurveda orthopedic medicine.
