Sesbania grandiflora or Hummingbird Tree is a leaf vegetable plant, introduced to Sri Lanka from Australia. It is cultivate as a leaf vegetable mostly in Low country in Sri Lanka. There are two related species of Hummingbird Trees cultivate in the country that Red Hummingbird Tree is the first one, has red flowers and other one is Sesbania formosa has white flowers both are called Katuru Murunga in Sinhalese.
