The coin grass plants native to Asian countries but now naturalized in elsewhere as a herb. It is commonly found on grass land, paddy field, along land near the tanks(lakes) in Sri Lanka. Also it is cultivate as a ornamental plant. The plant widely used in traditional Chinese medicine in East Asian Countries.
