Celosia argentea or the Silver Cock's Comb, is a herbaceous annual plant native to Sri Lanka and India. The plant can be found on derelict lands in low country of Sri Lanka. This is a weed not used as a vegetable and users should not confuse with Celosia argentea var spicata or common name "cock's comb" which is important nutritional plant, "Kirihenda" in Sinhalese.
