Celosia argentea var spicata or the Cock's Comb, is a herbaceous annual plant native to Sri Lanka and India. The plant can be found on wet lands such as paddy fields, adjacent areas of river banks or tanks in low country of Sri Lanka. This is a important herbal plant as well as popular leaf vegetable. This plant closely related and users often confuse with Celosia argentea or common name " Silver cock's comb" which is a weed, "Wal Raja Pohottu" in Sinhalese .
