Asian Broom Grass or Tiger Grass is a plant in genus Thysanolaena belong to family Poaceae. The genus Thysanolaena has only one species which is Thysanolaena latifolia and it is native to Sri Lanka also India and several other Asian countries. The plant is listed as 'near threatened' in "Red List 2012" which is Conservation status of the fauna and flora in Sri Lanka and now this plant grow as a ornamental plant on home gardens.
