Wild Schefflera or "Itta Kola" in Sinhalese Endemic plant to Sri Lanka. It is found in margin of water bodies or border of small forest  with shady places in Wet zone in Sri Lanka. It is Used in Ayurveda medicine and Schefflera heterobotrya is includes as  threatened plant in the National conservation status of flora and fauna publish by National Species Conservation Advisory Committee of Biodiversity Secretariat of the Ministry of Environment and National Herbarium,
