Indian Long Pepper is a herbal plant widely use in Ayurveda in Sri Lanka. It is in piper genus belong to Piperaceae family and leaves are closely related to the leaf of Betle, Piper Zelanicam and pepper plant. It is a terrestrial plant mostly seen in wetland and grows on shady places as a invasive weed. However, it is expensive herbs and plant cultivate in some areas. This is native plant to Sri Lanka and India.
