Indian Charcoal Tree is a species of genus Trema belong to family Cannabaceae. It is native to Sri Lanka, India and many other tropical countries. It is a medicinal plant and can be use to many industrial work but uses are rare. In Sri Lanka, It is a fast growing tree, grows up to 10 meters in height in about one year so consider as a weed. The plant is not suitable for home gardens hence only found on wasteland, forest borders, land borders or in wild mostly in low country.
