Leichhardt tree or Cheesewood - Bak Mi

Cheese wood tree or Bak mi tree is a deciduous flowering plant  of Nauclea genus in the Rubiaceae family native to to Sri Lanka India and Australia. Nauclea orientalis is only species of the genus Nauclea  that found in Sri Lanka The plant is rare and can be found in border of rivers or watercourses in wet zone or dry zone in Sri Lanka with 10-20 meters in height. Cultivate of home gardens is rare.
The timber is popular as soft wood and  used in woodcarving industries. Bark is important medicament for rabies of dogs bite in folk medicine. However plant is poisoned to human and animals.
