Japanese Lantern or Wada Mal is Introduced plant from African continent and can be found on home gardens throughout Sri lanka. Flowers are bright red with five petals and drop down as pendulous. ..Leaves are green,Alternate to stem and shape is Rhombic to Ovate. Fast growing tree grows about 4 or 5 meters in height. In Some other countries plant use for culinary and Ayurveda remedies but not in Sri Lanka
